
Working on your behalf
The Association is run by a council of twelve individuals comprising eight from the purchasing profession and four from the supply side, the council are responsible for directing the duties of the Secretariat and formulating the strategy for the association.
The council of IMPA are not paid for their role within the council and the association is run primarily as a ‘not for profit’ organisation seeking to benefit members and their organisations through the creation of industry initiatives and products and services.
Those members who are elected onto the IMPA council generally find the role to be tremendously satisfying and enjoyable. Each council member works in a specific area of development on behalf of members and council members work in groups to develop key strategic activity for the association. Council meets three times a year in various places around the world.

From within the council appointments into executive office include Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, (CEO), Chief Financial Officer, (CFO) and three Vice-Presidents in charge of key areas including Membership & Training, Product Development & Innovation, Sales & Marketing.
