IMPA DINNER GUESTS AT HOME UNDER THE DOME

In a prestige finale to this year’s exhibition and conference, the third IMPA annual dinner took place in the elegant surroundings of the world famous Victoria & Albert museum in fashionable South Kensington.

Following one of the busiest trade events in the association’s history, guests were whisked away from the Copthorne Tara hotel by traditional red London double-decker buses for a relaxing evening of fine food, wine and music.

Upon arrival the 200 guests made their way through the Dorothy and Michael Hintze Sculpture Galleries, a long hallway where the beautiful black and white mosaic flooring enhances one of the museum’s finest collections.

Once through the gallery, they were greeted with a champagne reception in the beautifully designed John Madejski Garden, before taking their dinner places in the museum’s domed entrance to the soothing sounds of a harpist.

Classical architecture, marble floors and a soaring domed ceiling - complemented by Dale Chihuly's impressive blue and green glass chandelier – provided a breathtaking setting for the dinner, which began with one of the museum curators giving guests a fascinating insight into the history of this renowned London landmark.

Meanwhile guests enjoyed a sumptuous four-course meal with background music provided by a string quartet. After dinner there was time for diners to relax, enjoy the music and discuss their business dealings over the past two days before it was time to take the return buses to the hotel.

Numerous positive comments have been received since the event. As one diner commented: “Big congratulations on the annual dinner. It was the first time I have been and I was extremely impressed with the food and surroundings. It was a very enjoyable event indeed.”
