
Returning to IMPA this year is our 2007 Keynote Speaker, Prof. Alan Waller OBE.
Alan G Waller is Vice-President for Supply Chain Innovation at the International Consultancy Solving International. He is also a Visiting Professor at Cranfield Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Cranfield School of Management. He is also Chairman of the Institute of Logistics and Transport.
He has lectured widely around the globe and has numerous publications in supply chain, logistics and related subjects. Alan Waller is a highly experienced and informative communicator, whose wealth of experience makes him an invaluable asset in the competitive world of supply chain management.
Professor Waller’s speech this year will be titled ‘"Supply Chain and Procurement Leadership and Skill Requirements" this presentation will examine the necessary skill-sets that need to be acquired and developed at all levels in the organisation, and how Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain need to be represented in the Board Room. It will also look at the results of a
major 2008 European survey aimed at finding the key ingredients for success in today’s, and tomorrows, leaders of Supply Chain and Procurement.
Erik W. Jakobsen of Norway-based MENON Business Economics has now been confirmed as the 2nd keynote speaker for this years IMPA event in London.
Mr Jakobsen holds his PhD and MSc degree from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH). He formerly had the position as Associate Professor in strategic management at The Norwegian School of Management (BI). His core professional competence consists of three closely related fields - Business development and strategic analysis, Ownership and value creation, and Business networks and industry clusters.
Erik Jacobsen’s speech at IMPA 2008 will be titled ‘Global business and industry trends’ – the address will look at what will become the leading practices in corporate strategies, organisational forms and market orientation, as well as exploring where we will find the leading regions and hubs for shipping, oil service, ship building, equipment and financial services.
