Dear Colleague,
For a third consecutive year, the International Marine Purchasing Association (IMPA) is pleased to be able to offer the Diploma in Marine Purchasing and Supply in co-operation with the National Sea Training Centre and Lloyd's Maritime Academy.
Developing the skill base and knowledge of our members and the industry lies at the heart of IMPA's philosophy and we are delighted to be able to bring this development opportunity to purchasing staff and their companies/organisations on a world wide basis.
Increasingly, the critical role and value of purchasing is being recognised as an important business function. This together with its management function means there is a great deal to consider.
The Diploma in Marine Purchasing and Supply is intended for all purchasing practitioners in ship owning, operating and management companies as well as all ship suppliers across the globe. The course covers the key topics required by today's purchasing professional giving insights into current trends affecting the industry and developments in the art and science of maritime purchasing.
The course considers different purchasing models, incorporating appropriate marine insurance and international law, and explains how they interface with other areas such as finance and administration.
The chosen delivery method is by distance learning as it eliminates geographical boundaries and barriers. In addition to the hard copies, all modules will also be available online from the course website which also provides the students with the opportunity to interact with other participants on the course in a secure, dedicated environment.
Students also get the chance to meet one another as well as contributors to the course through two seminars. The first of which is held in conjunction with the IMPA exhibition on Wednesday the 17th September 2008, allowing students the opportunity to see the leading industry suppliers all under one roof. A prestigious Graduation ceremony within the IMPA conference and a ‘student of the year’ award is further endorsement of our support to this course and hopes to further encourage the successful completion of this programme.
We are confident you will find that this unique Diploma provides you with a level of knowledge and skill that will benefit you and your employer.
We will start accepting applications for the diploma course at the beginning of 2008 so look out for regular updates on the IMPA.net website, IMPA eNews and our official publication – The Marine Trader Journal.
In the meantime if you would like to receive a brochure giving details of the course and the modules covered, please fill out the form below and we will dispatch one as soon as it is available.
We look forward to receiving your application to enrol.
Best regards,
Jan R. Johannessen
